This 2006 Subaru Impreza STI received a custom audiophile system with a twist. A Critical Mass 12" subwoofer and two Zapco amplifiers are the main feature in the trunk. Plexiglass, blue suede and color-matched trunk liner were the materials of choice, providing a sleek but integrated look. A new false floor was fabricated for the trunk, wrapped in blue carpeting to mimic the car's interior. Trim panels can be removed to showcase the system, or left in place for a factory appearance. In addition, the deck lid was fiberglassed and wrapped in trunk liner with a blue suede insert that boasts the same embroidered STI logo found throughout the car. Inside the vehicle, a CDT Audio ES 3-way setup with upstage tweeters in custom pillar pods provide the mids and highs. Crossover housings are secured beneath each seat, also upholstered in blue suede and black vinyl. A Pioneer Z2 headunit completes the system with the Zapco amplifier controls custom mounted below in place of the factory storage bin. A Kinetik HC800 acts as a secondary power source while a Clifford security system, complete with remote start and window roll-up, protects the vehicle.
